YouTube Playlists for English Practice
When learning a new language, one of the most important things students often forget is to immerse themselves in the language. The more exposure you get to the language, the better your brain will memorize it and process it. To aid in that immersion are new YouTube Playlists curated by me, with videos I actually watch on a daily basis. You can find the new playlists under the 'resources' tab in the menu at the top of the screen.
Finding What You Want
Finding a good video in the category you want can be hard, especially if your YouTube account is based in another country and set to another language. For me, while I was practicing my languages, finding videos always felt impossible because search results on YouTube are often based on your account language and country of origin. Even when I would search for videos using Portuguese search terms, the results were always in English because that's what my account is set to. And when you search for something like 'youtube channels to practice english', the content is always strictly educational or you get a listicle of 10 YouTube creators and that's it.
Finding what you want just got easier with the new YouTube Playlists here on EWT. They're categorized by themes like Cars, Home Renovation & DIY, Art, Science, Psychology, and more. There's even an entire playlist for relaxed listening full of ASMR, lawn care, pressure washing, and others so that you can have a little English exposure while you sit back, relax, and unwind.

Stress-free Practice
Remember, practicing your English doesn't need to be an intense study session every single time. Exposure is exposure. Even if you just let these videos play in the background and occasionally tune in, you're still getting exposure. Students often tell me they don't have time to practice, but what matters more than anything is just getting used to hearing the language. If you're in the car, let a video from the News, Podcasts, & Interviews playlist play. You can just listen; you don't need to watch. Busy cleaning your house? Throw on a video from the Comedy, Standup, & Memes playlist and have a laugh while you work.
Don't treat the language like it's a college course that needs to be perfected. Languages are best learned through immersion and exposure. Sit back, relax, and watch whatever you'd like. If you don't understand every single word they say, that's okay. You're still benefiting from the exposure.

Every video in every playlist has been watched by me, Thomas. I know what you're thinking: “But there are hundreds of videos in these playlists! Are you really watching all of them?" Yes, I am. I know, I've got a bit of a YouTube obsession, but my obsession can be your benefit. Every night, when I finish work, I unwind by watching YouTube videos. While I watch, I ask myself if a student might enjoy this video or benefit from watching it. If the answer is yes, I add it to its respective playlist.
Not only can you use these playlists to practice, but because I've personally watched every video on these lists, that means we can discuss whatever you watch during a class. If you are one of my private lesson students, you could watch these videos and use them as talking points during one of our lessons. I could answer any questions you may have as well; like idioms or slang they use in the videos. So don't hesitate to try out something from these playlists; it could be even more beneficial than just exposure. It could be lesson material as well, if you want it to be.
Are there any English-speaking YouTube creators you enjoy that you don't see on my lists? Share them with me! I'd love to discover someone new while adding more variety to the lists for other students to discover.
