[Alex]
And just when I thought my day couldn't get any stranger...
[Camryn]
I found them way in the— this is not my closet!
[Alex]
In a weird way, I'm kind of relieved to hear that.
[Camryn]
This may sound spooky, but it's kind of like I've been here before. How is that possible?
[Illeana]
You've been here in your dreams many times before Camryn.
You have the gift of sight. Yep, you sure do. Oh I can't stand it! Come here!
[Alex]
You know her?
[Karsh]
Just as you know me, Alex. Never seen, but always there. Silently watching over you making sure no harm comes your way.
[Illeana]
Though, if I had my way it is never as much as skin to me, but you know who here was always "keep your distance," "don't interfere," "shut up woman you're giving me a headache."
[Karsh]
Yes, much like you are right now.
[Alex]
But... Who are you?
[Karsh]
I am Karsh and this is Illeana. We are your protectors and your father's humble servants.
[Alex]
Our father?
[Camryn]
Is he here?
[Illeana]
You had to go and bring that up. No... Um... He's um... Well... He died the day you were born. There I said it.
[Illeana]
Come on.
[Karsh]
Yeah. Come. Let's move over here where it's quieter.
[Alex]
Quieter? What?
[Karsh]
It was your father who asked us to watch over you.
[Camryn]
But where are—
[Karsh and Illeana together]
Shh!
[Camryn]
Where are we?
[Karsh]
Why don't you ask your sister?
[Alex]
We're in Coventry aren't we?
[Camryn]
Coventry?
[Karsh]
Shh. Shh.
[Camryn]
What's Coven—try?
[Alex]
It's a land of make-believe I used to write about when I was a kid.
[Karsh]
Alex has the gift of knowing.
[Alex]
It doesn't really exist.
[Illeana]
Oh the world has infinite dimensions. Well nine... maybe nine and a half... But none is more real than another. This is ours and yours.
[Camryn]
Wait you called yourselves our protectors?
[Karsh]
Shh.
[Camryn]
What are you protecting us from?
[Illeana]
Just go ahead and tell them.
[Karsh]
The darkness.
[Alex and Camryn together]
Eh?
[Karsh]
The darkness.
[Alex]
So that's true too.
[Camryn]
What's true? What are you-
[Karsh and Illeana together]
Shh!
[Camryn]
What are you guys talking about? You're gonna have to start— wait! What about our mother? What happened to our mother?
[Illeana]
Short attention span.
[Karsh]
Yes, I'm beginning to notice. Your mother is very much alive.
[Camryn]
That's great! Did you hear that Alex?
[Illeana]
For 21 years—
[Karsh]
Yeah, I know! For 21 long years we have waited for this day. The future of Coventry is in your hands.
[Camryn]
Our hands? Why is it in—
[Karsh and Illeana together]
Shh!
[Camryn]
Our hands? I mean of course we'll do everything we can to help—
[Alex]
No! No way, forget it! I don't want any part of this.
[Karsh]
Alex.
[Alex]
No, I know how the story ends, remember?
[Karsh]
Alex, please.
[Camryn]
Wait! Don't take it personally, running off is kind of her thing. You just stay right here, I'll be right back. Talk amongst yourselves. Promise.
[Illeana]
So sweet. I wonder if we should have mentioned they're marked for death?
[Karsh]
Why would we tell them that?
[Illeana]
I don't know...
