The Missed Train

Last Friday, I was supposed to visit my cousin in another city. I packed my bag the night before and set my alarm for 6:30 a.m. The train was scheduled to leave at 8:00, and I thought I had plenty of time. But in the morning, I accidentally hit the snooze button. I woke up again at 7:15 and panicked.

I rushed to get ready, skipped breakfast, and called a taxi. Traffic was worse than usual, and I kept checking the time every minute. When I finally arrived at the station, I ran to the platform—but the train had just left.

I sat down on a bench, frustrated. I had been looking forward to this weekend for weeks. I called my cousin to explain, and luckily, she was very understanding. She told me to take the next train, even if it arrived later.

While waiting, I bought a coffee and tried to calm down. I realized that sometimes, things don’t go as planned, and that’s okay. I made it to my cousin’s house in the afternoon, and we still had a great time together.
